OSKANIAN ATTENDS INAUGURATION
Support A1+!Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian headed the Armenian delegation at the inauguration of Georgia’s re-elected President Mikhail Saakashvili. High-ranking officials, including presidents, prime ministers and foreign ministers from over 25 countries participated in the swearing-in ceremony of the Georgian President.
During the ceremony the Armenian FM passed Armenia’s President’s congratulations on Mikhail Saakashvili’s reelection.
Oskanian had meetings with OSCE Secretary General Mark Brishambo and NATO Special Representative for South Caucasus Peter Simons in Tbilisi.
During the meeting with the OSCE Secretary General the parties dwelt on the upcoming presidential election in Armenia and issues related to the OSCE Election Observation Mission. Reference was also made to the MG Co-Chairs’ recent visit to the region.
The Armenian FM and Peter Simons focused on the implementation of the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan and its prospects. They underscored active political dialogues between the two sides.
