AN AIRBUS FOR PRESIDENT KOCHARIAN

Official

Armenia has recently bought an airbus A-319 produced in 1998. The airplane will be used for diplomatic purposes and will replace Tu-134, 1977. It will take Armenia's President and top-officials' delegations abroad.

The airbus was bought in an Eastern market at the price of $45 million. 15 million of the sum was paid by Armenian benefactors. A credit was opened at 10 years' purchase to pay the remaining sum.

Tu-134 airbuses no longer meet aviation standards. They are denied access to European airports because the loud noise they make. The planes under question are ecologically dangerous and badly equipped. The buses haven't been used in the region for diplomatic purposes for a long time, RA President's press service reports.
