KOCHARIAN RECEIVES CIS OBSERVERS

April 20, 2007 – President of Armenia Robert Kocharian received Alexander Torshin, Deputy Speaker of RF Federation Council, and Michael Krotkov, chief secretary for the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly. Their visit is aimed at studying the organizational works of the parliamentary elections in Armenia.

Mr. Kocharian expressed the government’s determination to conduct the upcoming elections in full compliance with international standards and to provide necessary conditions for observation missions.

The parties dwelt on the issues concerning the main principles of pre-election period and election process.
