CoE IS CONCERNED OVER THE TORTURES TOWARDS WOMEN

CoE calls on its member countries to take measures to combat against family and women tortures. It urges to apply legislative, legal, budget and educational methods in this respect.

The results of the polling, initiated by the order of the CoE, revealed that family tortures are the most common in the CoE member countries.

Women are mainly subjected to sexual torture. This type of torture doesn't know geographical boundaries, age, cultural identity and social status. The issue is socio-political and demands the attention of all CoE member countries.
