ARMENIAN CHILDREN OF IRAQ LEFT FOR INDIA

On January 14-21 headmaster of the Calcutta Armenian Charity school Oshakan Gyulgyulyan left for Jordan and Iraq in order to bring six Iraqi-Armenian children to Calcutta.

Before leaving, the parents of the children were informed about the conditions in the school and the future plans. Gyulgyulyan failed to enter Iraq himself. Because of the unsafe situation in Iraq he was sent back to Jordan from the Baghdad airport. Nevertheless, due to the efforts of the head of the Iraq Armenian diocese, the children were sent to Jordan and form there, to Calcutta.

The parents of the children expressed their gratitude to the headmaster of the school for supporting the Armenians of Iraq in those difficult times.
