KOCHARYAN TO LEAVE FOR GERMANY
Support A1+!On November 15 Robert Kocharyan will leave for the Federal Republic of Germany on a three-day business visit. During the visit he will meet Chancellor Angela Merkel, Bundestag President Norbert Lammert, Berlin mayor Klaus Wowereit and other officials.
With the participation of Robert Kocharyan and Norbert Lammert the ceremony of opening of the new building of the RA Embassy in Germany will take place.
In December 1991 Germany officially recognized the independence of Armenia. On January 31, 1992 the two countries established diplomatic relations. This marked the beginning of the new phase of the Armenian-German relations – the intergovernmental one.
Armenia finds political dialogue with Germany important both for the development of mutual relations as well as in the context of European and Euro-Atlantic cooperation.
The two countries have signed 25 agreements; seven more are in the process of concluding.
