OSKANYAN SOLVES PROBLEMS IN GEORGIA

RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan who has been in Georgia on official duty since yesterday has been received by Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili. The two Foreign Ministers share the opinion that the Armenian-Georgian relations will continue to develop with the spirit of friendship and mutual cooperation.

Later on the two Ministers discussed issues of mutual and regional interest. The sides underlined the importance of the efforts of the countries in the economy and business fields and the mutual investments. The Ministers mentioned that enhancing of the Armenian-Georgian commerce and economic relations can contribute to the development of economically efficient transport communication.

The RA Foreign Minister mentioned that a number of economic issues have political implication and demand special attention. Minister Oskanyan especially underlined that the re-exploitation of the railway Kars-Gyumri-Tbilisi will contribute to the increase of the volumes of commodity circulation.

In his turn the Georgian Foreign Minister mentioned that Georgia fully realizes his role and responsibility in the region.

Referring to the problems in Javakhq region the sides mentioned that the efficient realization of the economic, cultural and educational programs by the Georgian government will greatly contribute to the reduction of tension in connection with social-economic problems in the region. Minister Oskanyan repeated the offer of the RA government will support the Georgian authorities in solving the problems in the Javakhq region.

The Ministers also referred to the European developments, in particular, the action plan within the framework of the EU Neighborhood program and issues of cooperation with the NATO.

Late in the evening the RA Foreign Minister was also received by Georgian President Mikhail Sahakashvili.
