AND NOW IT IS THE TURN OF THE LITHUANIAN MODEL

Today President Robert Kocharyan held a consultation with the participation of the working group on working out legal reforms and preparing the necessary legislative packet.

President Kocharyan wanted to get acquainted with the current work in order to realize its speed and to know when they will be able to finish.

David Haroutyunyan, Justice Minister and head of the group noted that mainly the Lithuanian model was selected as the guideline for the reforms while presenting the implemented work. According to the Minister they have already finished the working out of the legal reforms packet and have passed to the discussions of the Prosecuracy reforms. He also mentioned that soon the legislative works will also initiate.

Some disputed problems connected with the adoption and matters of principle were also key issues of the consultation. There is a diversity of opinions among the members of the group in this context.

President Kocharyan said that in case the packet is completely accepted by the late autumn it will be a step forward and will promote the establishment of independent legal system.
