NATO SECRETARY GENERAL IS IN ARMENIA

Today RA deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosyan received Robert Simmons, special envoy of the NATO Secretary General on South Caucasian affairs.

Summing up the May 18-19 working meeting of the NATO representatives and the Armenian Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) inter governmental committee members, Robert Simmons highly appreciated the process of realization of NATO-Armenia IPAP. He mentioned that Armenia has done a lot for a short period of time.

Mr. Kirakosyan mentioned that cooperation with the NATO and participation in the IPAP and the program «Partnership for the Sake of Peace» are important parts of the security system of Armenia. In this connection the sides found the enhancing of political dialogue with the NATO important.

The NA deputy Foreign Minister also briefed the guest on the recent developments of the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the present state of the relations between Armenia and Turkey.
