OSKANYAN HAS NOTHING ELSE TO DO IN WASHINGTON

RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan had a number of meetings with the US State Department high officials during his two-day visit to Washington.

After the ceremony of signing the “Millennium Challenges” agreement on March27 he met the US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice, deputy state secretary on European and Eurasian affairs Daniel Fried and his assistant Mathew Bryza.

During the meetings issues of mutual cooperation were discussed, including programs of economic and democratic support. The sides also referred to regional problems, including the energy security.

The issue of the perspectives of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict was the main theme of Vardan Oskanyan’s conversation with the OSE Minsk group US co-chair Steven Mann. Vardan Oskanyan mentioned again that Armenia is ready to seek the solution via negotiations.

On March 28 Vardan Oskanyan made a speech in the Washington Press National Club.

On March 29 Minister Oskanyan left Washington for New York where he will meet the US Secretary General Kofi Anan and other high officials.
