THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE USA STATE SECRETARY IS ALREADY IN ARMENIA

This morning the RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan received Daniel Fried, the USA State Secretary Deputy on the issues of Europe and Euroasia and Steven Mann, the USA Copresident in the OSCE group in the realm of the territorial visit.

According to the official sources there was an interchange of thoughts during the meeting on the territorial matters and a number of issues interesting the two sides.

They disccused a lot of territorial issues as well as the problem of the security provision of the Armenian Energy system, and the parties expressed their aproaches on this score. It was mentioned that the settlement of the conflicts in Southern Caucasus will give a chance to use the territory possibilities fully in the future.

Then the parties discussed the situation created by the settlement of the conflict of Nagorni Karabakh and changed their views concerning the measures which are being taken to continue the negotiations in the framework of the Prague procedure.

They also spoke about the Armenian-Azeri relations stressing the frontier openning and the exertion of the communication means in particular.

Among other issues they also spoke about the program “Millennium Challenge”and the problems connected with the establishment of the democracy in Armenia.

The same questions were discussed in the second part of the day during the meeting of Robert Kocharyan, Daniel Fried, the USA State Secretary Deputy on the issues of Europe and Euroasia and Steven Mann, the USA Copresident in the OSCE group in the realm of the territorial visit.
