The RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan received the US Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Armenia John Evans and the head of the US Agency of International Development Robin Phillips.
Issues about the aid of the US Government to Armenia were discussed, including the recent developments in the work with the Millennium Challenges Corporation. Underlining that the Armenian program of the Millennium Challenges has strong potential, Ambassador Evans voiced hope that it will be useful, especially when it comes to support for rural population.
«We have decided that the works of the Armenian program will continue and the agreement will probably be signed by March 27», the Ambassador said.
According to him, although there were problems after the Constitutional referendum in Armenia, about which the American side expressed its opinion, nevertheless, the US is interested in continuing to aid Armenia in the establishment and development of democratic institutions.
