GEORGIA HAS CONCEPTION

Official

«When it comes to news about Georgia, do not trust the Russian Mass Media. The rise and fall of the reputation of the Georgian President is a natural process. We simply do not hide our problems», announced the Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili during his first visit to Armenia.

The Armenian and Georgian Foreign Ministers announced in a joint press conference that they have thoroughly discussed all the issues included into the agenda of the countries. The Georgian Foreign Minister stressed that their relations with Azerbaijan are considered strategic, and Armenia is a pragmatic colleague for them. «I must mention that there is a difference between the National Security conception of Georgia and the foreign strategy. 3 strategic colleagues are included into our security conception – USA, Turkey and Ukraine. The strategic relations between Armenia and Georgia can be deepened and developed».

Referring to the power problems of Georgia, particularly to the raise of the costs of gas by Russia, Mr. Bezhuashvili announced, «This is the issue where are relations with the RF must be revised. We are ready to pay the sum if it is required for the freedom of our country».

The Georgian Foreign Minister also confirmed the information that Georgia is thinking about importing gas from Iran, Azerbaijan and Central Asia. As for importing oil from Iran via Armenia, Mr. Bezhuashvili said, «Today it is not possible technically. The importing of oil from Azerbaijan is more probable».

According to Vardan Oskanyan, the raise of the costs of gas must not be a reason for Armenia to reconsider their relations with Russia. «Gas is only a factor in the security strategy. We must try to solve our problems without tremors», Mr. Oskanyan said.

By the way, the Ministers found the clear-cut borders important in the relations of the countries, but they did not go into details in this issue.
