RA PREMIER MET AJARIAN GOVERNMENT HEAD

Today Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan received head of the Republic of Ajaria Levan Varshalomidze.

The parties stressed that the existing bilateral potential for cooperation should be efficiently used and noted that Ajaria is the closest and moderate resort for Armenia.

The head of the Ajarian government noted that after the settlement of domestic issues the central authorities intend to promote the development of Batumi port. In this view he informed the interlocutor of the privatization process in Ajaria including the port infrastructures emphasizing that in case of active cooperation Armenian capital can find its place in the Ajarian economy.

Andranik Maragryan in his turn stressed the necessity of developing the transport lines, in part the restoration of the Batumi-Tbilisi-Yerevan railway communication as well as launching flights for the further expansion of cooperation.

Completing the meeting the Prime Ministers confirmed readiness to develop bilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the agreements achieved.
