OSKANYAN CONGRATULATED LEBANESE PREMIER WITH STABILITY IN COUNTRY

Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan, who is on 3-day visit in Beirut met this morning with Mahmoud Hammoud, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon.

The FMs discussed a number of issues of mutual and international interest and noted the progress of cooperation within international structures since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. In his turn Minister Oskanyan presented the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement and the Armenian-Turkish relations.

During the meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati Vardan Oskanyan welcomed his contribution to the preservation of stability in the country and organization of the parliamentary elections on a high level. The parties confirmed that any government will secure the dynamic development of the Armenian-Lebanese relations.

When touching upon the trade-economic relations Vardan Oskanyan noted that despite the mutual potential their level does not correspond to the level of the present political partnership and the warm relationships between the nations. They noted that the formation of Armenian-Lebanese joint enterprises can activate the business ties between the two states.

On the same day Vardan Oskanyan visited the Armenian patriarchate to meet with Patriarch Petros Tarmuni and representatives of the Armenian catholic community.
