EFFICIENT COOPERATION
Support A1+!Today Robert Kocharyan received Vice President of the World Bank Shigeo Katsu and head of the Armenian Office Roger Robinson. Noting the successful process of programs implemented in Armenia, Mr. Katsu rated the partnership as efficient.
“We are carrying out the reforms with confidence. We do need these reforms and our purpose is to overcome the transitional period within shortest terms”, the RA President said.
The parties also discussed the issues referring to the perfection of tax and customs bureaucracy and raising the efficiency of manufacturing infrastructures.
They also touched upon reformation of systems of education, health and local self-government. Robert Kocharyan noted that a reform program for education and science systems has been elaborated.
According to the President, the policy of the local-self-government is targeted at decentralization. Noting that a great deal of work has been done during the recent two years. From the point of view of territorial policy Robert Kocharyan underscored the importance of development of boundary regions and poverty reduction.
