THE CATHOLICOS THANKED THE PRIME MINISTER

Today RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan received the Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II. Issues about the further enhancing of the church-state relations have been discussed.

The Catholicos thanked the Prime Minister and the RA Government for allotting the lands of the churches and chapels to the Armenian Apostolic Church by the 2005 February decision of the Government. An agreement has been reached to continue the joint work in that direction and to solve the problems together.

During the meeting the course of the works of amending the RA Law about “Freedom of conscience and religious organizations” has also been discussed after the adoption of which the RA Government and the Armenian Apostolic Church will sign a corresponding agreement.
