CENTRAL BANK PRESIDENT WISHES TO BE RE-ELECTED
Support A1+!Before being re-elected for another 7-year term President of the Central Bank of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan presented the report on the bank activities and responded to the deputies' questions today.
According to the report the CB forced out 15 corrupt commercial banks from the banking system last year. However it caused the problem of new 8000 depositors. The major 141 of them are only registered yet, the CB President said. The report runs that the Armenian society is divided into 4 groups – the rich, middle class, the poor and the poorest. The conclusion is confirmed by the fact that the depositions made by the representatives of the middle class make 95% of the money put up. According to the report the poor and the poorest sectors of the population make 23% and 17% respectively. Tirgan Sasrgsyan assured that if re-elected he will spare no efforts to make the Armenian banking system correspond to the international standards.
The re-election ceremony will take place tomorrow in the Armenian National Assembly.
