I am glad to hear that relations with Armenia are important for NATO. I would like to note once again that we will abide by the accepted line and constantly develop our relationships. As for Armenia’s participation in various programs, we will work within the limits of our possibilities. Moreover if we did not have the unsettled conflict we would participate in similar programs more actively”, Armenian Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan stated at the meeting with NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons.

The latter in his turn introduced NATO Officer-Coordinator Romualdas Razuks to the Minister.

As for the other countries of the region, Mr. Simmons said NATO does not compete with any of the neighbor states, and Serge Sargsyan added that “Armenia only benefits from good Russia-NATO, Russia-CE and Russia-US relations”.
