On October 4 in Brussels Samvel Mkrtchyan, Armenian newly-appointed Ambassador in NATO headquarters presented his credentials to NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.

During the conversation after handing details of the coming visit of Secretary General to Armenia and issues regarding Armenia-NATO cooperation, the inner developments of South Caucasus region and the processes of settlement of the conflicts were discussed.

Mr. Scheffer assured that NATO will focus attention on Southern Caucasus aiming to establish stability and prospects of development in that region.
