EU Council for General Issues and Foreign Policy approved the Commission suggestion on “Wider Europe: New Neighbors” program.
Mentioning its resolutions of June 16, 2003 and January 26, 2004, stressing its increasing interest to stimulate the stability, democracy and prosperity in the region, and taking into account the suggestions of European Parliament, European Commission, Secretary General and EU Special Envoy on South Caucasus, Council on Southern Caucasus decided to enroll Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia in the policy of European Neighborhood.
Under it, any state of Southern Caucasus will be given the equal chances to develop the relations with European Union.
