UZBEKISTAN FOR AZERBAIJAN’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY
Support A1+!President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said after Azeri President Ilkham Aliev’s recent visit to Uzbekistan that Nagorno Karabakh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan, as it was in Soviet era, and Armenia must unconditionally comply with Azerbaijan’s demand to cede occupied territories.
Karimov thinks the conflict should be settled stage-by-stage. He is convinced the settlement top condition must be territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
He said he understood Armenia wouldn’t like his proposal. But, in his words, Armenia should be interested in such a development because blockade is to be lifted as a result.
Karimov blamed the USSR former president Gorbachev for taking indifferent stance on the conflict saying he had done nothing to prevent it and it is Gorbachev who is responsible for the crisis.
