PAKISTAN SUPPORTS AZERBAIJAN IN KARABAKHI CONFLICT

Solemn ceremony dedicated to Pakistan’s national holiday was held Tuesday at Pakistani Embassy in Baku. Mohammed Hafiz, Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan, made a speech at the event.

Speaking on bilateral relationship the ambassador expressed satisfaction with cooperation between the two countries. The friendly relations are based on common interests and values.

According to Baku’s 525th Newspaper, Islamabad is backing Azerbaijan in Karabakh confrontation. “We want the conflict to be settled as soon as possible on basis of territorial integrity and international law”, the ambassador said.

Answered when Pervez Musharraf will visit Azerbaijan, Hafiz said this will be within 2004.
