URUGUAY RECOGNIZED APRIL 24
Support A1+!On March 10 Uruguay Parliament /Inferior Chamber/ approved the bill welcomed in Senate in 2000, under which April 24 is considered “the commemoration day of Armenian martyred in 1915“.
The bill also says “that day the state media are to highlight those accidents”.
The bill will come into force after Uruguay President signs it.
Though the bill doesn’t mention “genocide” phrasing, those making speeches in Parliament didn’t avoid calling what had happened genocide.
