VARDAN OSKANYAN MET NEW AMBASSADOR OF MOROCCO

On February 24 Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Vardan Oskanyan received Morocco Ambassador Mohammed Azhar. Ambassador presented the copies of his credentials to the Minister.

At the conversation both parts underlined the close cooperation of Armenia with the Arab states and necessity to stimulate relations between Armenia and Morocco.

Standpoints on the present situation in Southern Caucasus, regional developments, Karabakhi conflict settlement and the prospects of Armenian-Turkish relations were exchanged.

The same day Morocco Ambassador will present his credentials to President Robert Kocharyan.

By the way, at 6:27 AM an earthquake struck in Morocco. More than 220 people died.

It’s strange but neither Minister nor President expressed condolence over the earthquake to the Ambassador during handing the credentials.
