ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT SPEAKER REPORTING TO HIS FRENCH COLLEAGUE
Support A1+!The Armenian delegation headed by Parliament Speaker Arthur Baghdasaryan, which is in France for the official visit on the invitation of France’s Senate Chairman Christian Ponsle, met France Parliament Chair Jan Louis de Bret on January 14.
Parliament Information Service underlined that the meeting passed under the atmosphere of full mutual understanding. Jan Louis de Bret voiced willingness to support his Armenian colleagues in all the projects as far as possible.
The regional development was referred to at the meeting. It was stated that Armenia had already met CE-commitments – death penalty abolition, approval of the laws on alternative military service, Mass Media, ratification of the social charter, etc. Constitutional and electoral reforms will be set going in 2004.
Armenian Parliament Chair also talked about the regional problems, i.e, relations with the neighboring countries. It was said that Armenia holds the stance of the peaceful settlement of Karabakhi conflict through negotiations.
