In the health sphere

According to NKR Minister of Health Zoya Lazarian, significant increase of budget means on the development of the system, which will totally amount to 130 million drams, is expected in 2004. According to her, 458 million drams will be allocated, in particular, for stationary treatment, and the average expenses for treating one patient will comprise 45.000 drams. The budget means, allocated for the treatment of socially vulnerable people, will be increased by 12 million drams.

Z. Lazarian also noted that the salaries of the medical employees would increase next year. Doctors will get 28.000 drams and the medium level employees – 18.000 drams.

In the social sphere

Among the changes envisaged by the draft budget of 2004, NKR Minister of Social Security Lenston Ghoulian noted the fact that in 2004 houses would be constructed in the Republic for the families having six children, and not seven as it was earlier. According to him, the rates of the basic pension and social grants will be raised in 2004, and the medium pension will comprise 6.600 drams. Pensioners with 30, 40 and 50 years of seniority will correspondingly get 7.620, 10.400 and 13.500 drams.
