PARLIAMENT SPEAKER HOSTED SCHOOLCHILDREN
Support A1+!On November 29 Armenian Parliament Speaker Arthur Baghdasaryan met more than 100 schoolchildren of Yerevan and Armenian Districts.
The schoolchildren were interested in various issues, our foreign policy, Armenian-Georgian relations etc. But they were more interested in education, optimization, private and state education, entrance examinations.
As to school optimization, Baghdasaryan said there are now more than 5000 non-specialist teachers who were suggested to 2 versions – either to get retrained and return to work or to leave schools being granted salary of 6 months at a time .
Over the issues on private and state education in institutes of higher education Parliament Speaker informed that beginning from 2004 the principle of competition will function and the public funds will be spent for those having high results.
Before and after the meeting the schoolchildren were given a chance to walk in the Parliament building.
