JUSTICE UNION TO KEEP STUGGLING

Official

Club Azdak hosted MP Viktor Dallakyan today. The lawmaker spoke on Justice Union’s objectives and activity in parliament. In his words the union is ready to cooperate with the ruling coalition on those legislative issues conforming to people’s interests. As an example, he mentioned decisions to set up standing parliamentary commissions for repaying depositors their money, cooperating with European structures, effective using of offshore investments etc.

What about death penalty abolition in Armenia, the MP said people take this decision as guarantees for the October 27 terrorist action perpetrators. That’s why the union boycotted this issue voting and is going to come up with a motion at coming parliamentary session, proposing amendments to Criminal Code in order to prevent amnesty possibility and set up life imprisonment for raping of minors, terrorism and murdering with aggravating factors.

The union is to come up with the initiative to establish interim parliamentary commission for scrutinising irregularities in the 2003 elections and deliberate suspension of the October 27 terrorist action.

Viktor Dallakyan said Justice Union continues its efforts to form legitimate authorities and will propose amendments to Referendum Law.
