A BRIDGE WAS PUT INTO OPERATION IN THE VILLAGE OF SHEKHER
Support A1+!On July 16, within the framework of constructing the strategically important for Nagorno-Karabakh “North-South” highway, a bridge was put into operation in a ceremonial atmosphere in Martuni region’s Shekher village. Thereby, the construction of the 15-kilometer section from the village of Drakhtic, Hadrut region, to the village of Shekher was actually finished. The construction of the 11-kilometer section of the highway between the villages of Shekher and Sarushen, Martuni region, will begin soon.
NKR Prime Minister Anoushavan Daniyelian, who was present at the ceremonial opening of the bridge, noted the communicational and economic significance of this construction, which had connected the villages of the Hadrut and Martuni regions.
According to Executive Director of the All-Armenian Fund ‘’Hayastan’’ Vahan Ter-Ghevondian, the construction of 3 sections of the highway, the total length of which is 28 kilometers, will be continued this year. They are Stepanakert–Aigestan, Sarushen-Karmir Shuka and Tsakury-Hadrut.. The total length of the “North-South’’ highway, which is constructed under the aegis of the All-Armenian Fund ‘’Hayastan’’, comprises about 170 kilometers. Its design cost is 25.000.000 USD.
