ARF CALLING TO BEWARE OF TURKISH DIPLOMATIC STEPS

The Central Office of ARF’ Political Issues appeared with a press release, which particularly says:

During the last weeks the Turkey’ Authorities try to make false impression through their diplomatic steps and propaganda as if they initiated establishment of friendly relations with Armenia and the Armenian people, right up to opening of the land frontier with Armenia.

At the same time, in their statements the Turkish Authorities keep negating the fact of the Armenian Genocide, their responsibility for official mastermind and implementation of the first genocide in the 20th century. They also included deny policy of the Armenian Genocide in school education program, thus once more proving the character of their real purposes.

The Turkish Authorities displayed their false benevolence on June 27, when Turkey’ PM Erdogan in Kars announced that his Government is for improvement of relations with Armenia under the stipulation that Armenia and Armenian people stop pressing for the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

ARF has announced for many times that it is for establishment of good relations between Armenia and Turkey, which can come true only if the historical truth is accepted. Any Armenian-Turkish dialogue will be efficient only if Turkey recognises the fact of the Armenian Genocide, which is beyond controversy. No Armenia-Turkey dialogue has any prospects till Turkey is biased over Artsakh issues and keeps holding blockade to the Armenian Republic.

Accepting necessity of the wise dialogue between 2 states, one should not separate the issue of recognition of the fact of Armenian Genocide and Turkey responsibility for it from the sphere for Armenia-Turkey relations. This problem is an inseparable part of foreign policy of Armenia.

ARF is sure that through diplomatic actions and propaganda of the last weeks the Turkish Authorities aim to create the illusion of their “good will” towards USA and European Union. The Armenian organisations and institutes must beware of falling into such a Turkish trap.

Armenia will counterblow Turkey intrigues through resolute and vigilant steps for protecting the interests of Armenia and the Armenian people.
