MONITORING

Official

On May 27, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Nagorno Karabagh and Azerbaijan armed forces’ contact-line in the Aghdam direction.

From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring group was headed by Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk. The group comprised Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Jan Repa (Slovakia) and Gennady Korzh (Ukraine).

The monitoring passed in accordance with the agreed schedule, and no violation of the cease-fire regime was fixed. The representative of the NKR Ministry of Defense, participating in the monitoring, informed the OSCE observers on the cease-fire violations by the Azerbaijan party, which had taken place in the period between the last two monitorings.

The members of the OSCE monitoring group also visited the military hospital to learn about the state of health of two servicemen of the NKR Defense Army.

They were injured as a result of sniper shooting from the Azerbaijani side, which took place in early May in the section, where today’s monitoring has taken place.

From the Karabagh party, representatives of the NKR Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs accompanied the monitoring mission.
