Armenian Freedom Network is established as a reaction to the climate prevalent in the Republic of Armenia before, during and after the 2003 Presidential elections. It is also a reaction to the apathy and incapacitation observed in the Armenian Diaspora in the same period of time.

AFN’s mission is to encourage, stimulate and coalesce contemporary and progressive Armenian cultural, social and political thought throughout the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora, with the goal of promoting free, democratic and civil society in Armenia, and a coherent Armenian identity throughout the entire Armenian nation.

AFN also aims at fostering cooperation throughout the vicinity of the Republic of Armenia and encourages the building of further bridges between the nations of the region.

Armenian Freedom Network targets primarily the Armenian Internet Community and the online friends of Armenia. As it accumulates adequate mass, AFN will step into the domain beyond that of the Internet. For now, as a venue for delivering its message, AFN has launched an online magazine at www.armfreenet.org under the same name.

We, at AFN, look forward to having you as our regular readers and participants, with the purpose of accomplishing our mission, which we believe many of you share, to elevate Armenian political, social, economic and cultural thought to new, progressive heights.
