ARMENIA AS A MEMBER OF ORGANISATION FOR EUROPEAN CONFERENCE OF TRANSPORT MINISTERS
Support A1+!The 87th siting of the European Conference of Transport Ministers took place in Brussels from April 22-24. The 50th anniversary of establishment of the organisation was celebrated during it. At that jubilee sitting Armenia was granted the status of the full member of the organisation .
Armenia’ membership to the organisation for “European Conference of Transport Ministers” first gives a chance for goods’ conveyance to all the European countries. It may increase the potentialities of home market and stimulate export growth.
The official delegation of Armenia, headed by Andranik Manukyan, the Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication, took part in the works of ECTM. In his speech Manukyan has stated that Armenia has been collaborating with such an important international transport organisation since 1995 as an observer.
Membership of Armenia to that organisation is an ordinary step to integration into the European economic structures. Mr Manukyan voiced confidence that it will support growth of commodity turnover from Armenia and the contrary, will consolidate the technical base and implementation of investment projects.
On April 24 the Armenian delegation took part in the measure, arranged in Armenian Church of Brussels in the memory of the victims of Great Genocide. Mr Manukyan and Ambassador Chitechian laid a wreath on the khachkar for victims of Armenian Genocide on one of the squares of Brussels.
