THE FAMOUS ARCHITECT WAS HANDED TO THE SECOND HONORARY REWARD OF ARMENIAN CHURCH
Support A1+!In Saint Echmiadzin Garegin II handed “Saint Sahak-Saint Mesrop” honorary award of Armenian Apostolic Church to Varazdat Harutyunyan, the well-known architect and academician.
Varazdat Harutyunyan’s long term activity and his service in favour of church was introduced, speeches of congratulation and praise were made.
Being supporter of protecting Armenian architectural monuments, Varazdat Harutyunyan made an important contribution to protection and repairs of church buildings. More than 50 church complexes, including Saint Echmiadzin, Saint Hripsime, Saint Gayane, Geghard, Khor Virap, have been reconstructed under his guidance.
”Saint Sahak-Saint Mesrop” order is the second award of Armenian Church to the famous architect. For his activity in favour of church V. Harutyunyan was before decorated with the highest award of Armenian Church - “Saint Grigor Lusavoritch” order.
