ARMENIA ACCEPTED BLACK SEA ECONOMIC COOPERATION ORGANISATION CHAIRMANSHIP FOR SIX-MONTH TERM

The Black Sea Economic Cooperation organisation member countries’ foreign ministerial 7th meeting was held Friday in Tirana.

Armenian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan attended the meeting were Armenia accepted 6-month chairmanship in the organisation. Vardan Oskanyan said in his speech that the development of cooperation in the science and technologies areas would be an objective of top priority for the period of Armenia’s chairmanship. He attached a great importance to intensifying interaction with EU and UNO.

”In the Black Sea region, where political dissents are becoming a set-back to common interests, informational technologies could become the factor strengthening the positions of those engaged in business and public or political activity who are trying to break borders to achieve personal and common goals. And the Black Sea Economic Cooperation has worked out mechanisms for such a cooperation”, Oskanyan said in his speech.

The meeting participants also adopted a resolution condemning terrorist action in Moscow.
