ARMENIA' SEISMIC DEFENCE EXPERTS IN GEORGIA

From 26-th to 28-th April Armenian special delegation headed by S. Balasanyan, the head of Seismic Defence National Service of Armenian Government was in Georgia in connection with the earthquake occured in Tbilisi on April the 25-th.

During 3 days Armenian specialists together with the Georgian colleagues examined more than 70 buildings to determine real damage and to make a professional conclusion.

6 people lost their life in the earthquake including 4 Georgian citizens of Armenian nationality. 6 Armenian schools out of the 8 were damaged, especially the buildings of 86-th and 110-th schools. Both Saint George and Saint Echmiadzin Churches were damaged as well as the only Armenian Culture Hearth in Tbilisi - the building of Armenian State Dramatic Theatre after P. Adamyan.
