THEY CARRIED THEM OUT AND ARE IN PANIC?

After press releases, the public relations department of the National Assembly of Armenia finally decided to officially release the letter sent December 30 by Chairman of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan to the chairmen of PACE-member parliaments.

In the letter sent two weeks ago, Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia particularly asked for support during the upcoming developments related to the issue of Armenia and the discussions to take place in January. Let us recall that the Armenian delegation faces the danger of losing voting rights in the PACE.

“The proposed sanction is overstated, inconsistent and does not correspond to the former working style of the assembly, including that of the other delegations of our region. The sanction will serve as a case of applying double standards and will contradict our collective efforts aimed at promoting cooperation and dialogue in the framework of the Council of Europe and the Assembly,” noted the NA Chairman promising that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, as well as the Armenian delegation in the PACE are always ready to provide additional information or clarifications in order to prepare for the mentioned assembly.

What’s interesting is that while sending the letter, Hovik Abrahamyan announced to the presses that Armenia has carried out all the agreements and all of the proposals made in resolutions 1609 and 1620 of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Commenting on the letter of the NA Chairman, Armenian National Congress representative Arman Musinyan told “A1+” that without any weighed arguments, the administration is trying to hold back the European community from deciding to punish the Armenian delegation by begging and sometimes scaring or by other means.

“But that can’t have an impact either because the Monitoring Committee has recognized our hostage friends as political prisoners. That is enough and no matter what the outcome, we have that victory. Our friends have been recognized as political prisoners,” said Arman Musinyan.
