HATSPANYAN WENT ON WATER STRIKE

French civilian and Karabakh war veteran Sargis Hatspanyan has been on a hunger strike already for 26 days. Today at 10:00 Hatspanyan went on water strike, Hatspanyan’s Advocate Givi Hovhannisyan informed A1+. Hatspanyan demands to review his restraint.
Remind that Hatspanyan has gone on a termless hunger-strike since December 1 as an extreme and desperate form of protest. He demands an immediate release of Armenia’s political prisoners.
Yesterday Givi Hovhannisyan visited his defendant. He says Hatspanyan looked well but he had pain in the kidney.
The Penitentiary Department of the RA Ministry of Justice assessed Hatspanyan’s state as satisfactory. They state Hatspanyan is under constant observation.
Hatspanyan’s case investigation is still underway. He is charged with perjury /Article 333 of the RA Criminal Code/. He is indicted for announcing an alleged attempt upon Serzh Sargsyan.
Sargis Hatspanyan was taken into custody on November 10.
