OBSERVATION OF THE LINE OF CONTACT OF THE ARMENIAN-AZERI ARMED FORCES
Support A1+!Another OSCE mission conducted an observation of the Berkaber village of the Tavush Marz on the line of contact of the Armenian and Azeri armed forces. According to head of border representation of the special department of the main headquarters of the Armenian Armed Forces Andranik Mkrtumyan, the observation took place without any incidents y according to plan, despite the fog.
“Everything was normal and there were no cease-fire cases registered,” told “A1+” Mkrtumyan. After the observation a briefing took place in the Tavush Marz during which the Armenian side informed the OSCE observers of the frequent cease-fire violations, the bombings in the villages and the deaths.
According to Mkrtumyan, the Armenian side has been raising the issue concerning the establishment of direct ties with the Azeri side for a couple of years now, but the Azeri always reject it.
The Azeri always refuse to conduct observations as well. Today’s observation had to take place in that section as proposed by the OSCE president’s personal representative Anjey Kasprshik, but the Azeri side rejected it for the third time,” said head of the border representation of the special department of the main headquarters.
Andranik Mkrtumyan assured that they are going to insist on conducting the observation near the Chinar village. Let us remind that the Chinar village is 1000 meters away from the line of contact of the Armenian and Azeri armed forces and this year on June 16 and 18 two village residents were killed from bombs in the village.
