THE RESOLUTION ON “A1+” OF THE COURT SHOULD BE ACTED OUT
Support A1+!“It is very important to have the resolutions of the European Court of Human Rights, including that of the “A1+” TV be acted out as soon as possible”, told “A1+” today professor of the Foreign Institute of Public and International Rights named after Max Plank, former vice-president of the European Commission on Human Rights Jochen Frowein.
“If the resolutions of the European Court of Human Rights are not carried out, then the ministerial committee will record that and then Armenia will face serious problems”, said the former vice-president of the European Commission on Human Rights. Let us recall that according to the resolution of the European Court, the RA government had to compensate 20,000 euros to “A1+” and 10,000 euros to the attorneys who had defended “A1+” in the European Court. The government has not paid any amount to date.
Mr. Frowein had brought a series of decisions approved by the Court based on the appeals sent from Armenia and underlined in his interview with “A1+” that “it is very important to provide commentary on the law on meetings, protests, marches and demonstrations with the spirit of the European Convention and Constitution of Human Rights.”
Frowein informed that there is a rather huge amount of issues which refer to the opposition’s meetings that took place in Yerevan. Today’s seminar was organized as part of the “Consultation for strengthening of the juridical system in Armenia” of GTZ. “The seminar is dedicated to a very modern-day issue in Armenia, that is, the protection of human rights. Human rights are still not protected in an effective way in Armenia. This is the main issue and it must be solved”, said one of the program’s lawyers Grigor Muradyan.
