DO POLICEMEN UPHOLD TER-PETROSSIAN’S HONOUR?

Politics

Sit-down strikers say 3-4 fellows were detained in Northern Avenue today morning. The reason for the detention was the phase “Levon, President” drawn on the square. Witnesses say the fellows hadn’t been in the avenue the previous night, consequently, they cannot have written the words.

“If a policeman looks in at 6 a.m. and steals a table he is likely the one who has written the words. We have made inquires among our friends. None of us has drawn the words,” said women-strikers in tears.

One of the detainees is Tigran Arakelian, the other is named Arman. The presentees don’t remember the name of the third one. The policemen assured the presentees that the boys had spoilt public property.

The police found paint bottles on the ground.

Police Colonel Robert Melkonian says it is not beautiful to put the first President’s name on the ground. “Would you like me to walk on the first President or to spit upon him? Obviously, it is not beautiful.”

In reply to A1+’s question whether the regiment commander got insulted on seeing Ter-Petrossian’s name on the ground, Mr. Melkonian said, “Surely, we must get insulted, mustn’t we?”

Robert Melkonian didn’t know how many people had been detained in the morning.
