COURT OF CASSATION TO INVESTIGATE THE COMMANDER’S CASE
Support A1+!Hovik Arsenian and Vardan Zurnachian, defenders of Commander of Masis battalion and former head of the RA Security Services Husik Baghdasarian, have appealed to the Court of Cassation.
Husik Baghdasarian was found guilty under Article 235 /carrying illegal weapons/ and was sentenced to 2 years’ imprisonment. The police found sixteen bullets in his house.
“There was no need to present additional proofs to the Court of Cassation as the facts presented to the General Jurisdiction Court and the Court of Appeal were already enough. They were quite apparent and obvious but the courts simply neglected the facts,” declared Hovik Arsenian.
The defender believes that Husik Baghdasarian is under political persecution. He insists that the Regime had initiated the “1 March” still back on February 24, when a criminal case was instituted in frames of Article 300 /appropriation of power / in the NSS Department of Investigation.
“Several houses were searched that night. The police found Husik Baghdasarian’s legal weapons and the 16 bullets and immediately took him to the police station. The law-enforcement bodies were ordered to do it,” Hovik Arsenian notes.
“The decision of the Court of Cassation merely depends on the political will. It has nothing to do with Law,” concluded Arsenian.
