COURT REJECTS OPPOSITION

Politics

Today the Administrative Court rejected Levon Ter-Petrossian’s appeal against the June 12 decision of the City Hall to ban the opposition rally in Liberty Square slated for June 20. The 4-hour rally was to be held in Liberty Square, interrupted with a 40-minute march.

After the verdict was read out Robert Sanoyan, authorized representative of Levon Ter-Petrossian declared that the decisions of the City Hall to ban rallies in Liberty Square and near the Matenadaran were unjustified and did not proceed from the requirements of the law. “Now we are certain that the Court is not independent and it cannot make fair verdicts,” he announced.
