POLICE OFFICER TEARS HIS CERTIFICATE
Support A1+!“The desire to tear my certificate had been growing in me for months since I lived with the thoughts to struggle against dishonesty, corruption and ignorance”, Ashot Tadevossian, former RA Police Officer, told “A1+”.
At February 26 rally Tadevossian announced he was ashamed of being a policeman and tore his certificate after which he was persecuted. “I had been in persecution for 9 days and since my family’s security was at risk I had to report myself to my management board on March 5.”
“After the inquiry I was sentenced to ten days’ detention as a disciplinary punishment. Only after suffering the punishment I was notified about my dismissal. After 18 years of service I was deprived of my right to receive service pension and get twenty-fold of my salary”, declared the police officer dismissed for his political views.
Especially after March 1 events Ashot Tadevossian doesn’t regret his tearing the certificate. On the contrary, he is proud of his move and feels quite happy to be with his people.
“In our days people are deprived of freedom of speech. Our rights are violated on every step. The chain of illegal political detentions continues. I have never been engaged in politics but now I realize that only Levon Ter-Petrossian can take people out of this mess.”
By the way, Ashot Tadevossian bears no relation to any political figure. He is not a member of Ter-Petrossian’s team and has not met with any politician after the rallies. He is a simple citizen that suffers hardship for his political views. Ashot Tadevossian is not going to retreat. “I shall be with my people from this moment on and I will struggle for freedom and integrity. I feel ashamed for the injustice I saw in those 18 years”, declares Tadevossian.
“I feel ashamed for those police officers who realized March 1 events at regime’s command. I do not have a feeling of remorse. I am honest with my people. I admire those colleagues of mine who were with people then. Glory to them!”, announces Ashot Tadevossian.
Tadevossian also had a request to the authorities: “Set free the detainees! You know they are not criminals.”
