ANOTHER IRRESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT
Support A1+!“10 days is enough for Serzh Sargssian to solve all the problems with human rights violation”, says Stepan Safarian, member of “Heritage” Party, indicating Serzh Sargssian’s promises given on the Inauguration Day. “The authorities bear responsibility for the present situation and they should be the ones who take the initiative.”
Safarian stated there was not a single step the authorities had taken to regulate the situation. The politician believes that if the authorities are really eager to control the situation they should provide an objective investigation of March 1 events.
In case the authorities do not take the steps mentioned they will, in all probability, “declare war against global civilization”. “This crisis is both juridical and political”, says Safarian. He calls it juridical since people’s right to organize rallies is violated. “Today the opposition has to act in the streets. Moreover, all the important events have been organized in the streets lately”, says Safarian.
Safarian also dwelt on the appointment of Tigran Sargssian to the post of RA Prime Minister. “Tigran Sargssian has always been available at the National Assembly discussions but he is not strong enough to make independent decisions. I fear of another irresponsible government. Prime Minister is not from the same political team, and he is not potent enough to make the team liable and responsible.”
Journalists also asked Stepan Safarian’s attitude towards “Heritage” Party Chairman Raffi Hovhannissian’s presence at Serzh Sargssian’s Inauguration. According to Safarian all the “Heritage” Party members, including Raffi Hovhannissian, had visited March 1 victims’ relatives, had been at Myasnikian’s Statue and in many other places on that day. And if Raffi Hovhannissian was present at the Inauguration it did not mean he accepted the election results for a fact.
