CANDIDATES' PROGRAMS ARE NOT POWERFUL

Politics

After getting acquainted with the programs of the RA presidential candidates, Sergey Kapinos, Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan had the impression that they did not form the most powerful part of the current pre-election fight. “If the majority of the candidates had constructive, well-thought pre-election programs, in my opinion, they would improve the election process and promote their qualified implementation. This is my private assessment”, said Sergey Kapinos to “A1+”.

Both the programs of the candidates and the conduction of the pre-election fight and the main process of the development of democracy in Armenia inhale optimism in him. “I say this coming out of assessments of international observers on the parliamentary elections conducted in May last year”, mentioned the OSCE Ambassador. According to him, the RA NA elections were as essential border for the development of democracy in the country. Thus, great efforts were demanded for the top-level conduction of the parliamentary elections.

Today, the OSCE Office in Armenia sponsored the demonstration of the training film on the election processes. The film presents election processes, in compliance with the RA Electoral Code and the decision of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The Chairman of the CEC Garegin Azaryan noticed that during the previous elections members of the election commissions could not write protocols correctly. “We will able to assess the productivity of the film after 20 February”, added Garegin Azaryan.

The film was made within the frameworks of a program of the OSCE Yerevan Office together with the PR Association in Armenia with the support of the CEC.
