VAZGEN MANUKIAN: “I SHALL RUN IN THE SECOND ROUND”
Support A1+!Leader of the National Democratic Union (AZhM) Vazgen Manukian runs in the presidential race with the motto, “Let’s be masters of our country and vote.” He got acquainted with pre-election programmes of all candidates.
“I endorse most points of their programmes but ours differs in terms of ideological approaches. A stereotyped model emerged in Armenia some ten or fifteen years ago. People change in the course of time while the model remains unchanged,” he says.
According to the AZhM leader their programme contains a thorough analysis of Armenia’s political life and underscores the fact that this pyramid is determined by a coalescence of economy and politics. “If I become president, I shall modify the president’s supervision service, include opposition politicians and civil society activists for a broader and transparent perception. All the complaints of the previous years should be reconsidered. People need protection. They don’t know whom to turn to safeguard their rights. People seek changes but they don’t believe in elections,” Vazgen Manukian says.
In reply to the question which candidate the AZhM will back in the second round, Vazgen Manukian said, “ I have never been asked such a question before. Today it is one of the most frequently posed questions. I think it is a put-up job. I think I shall appear in the second round.
