“TER-PETROSYAN IS NEITHER A WEAK NOR A STRONG RIVAL”

Politics

Today the Hayeli Club hosted the leader of the Liberal-Progressive Party (HAAK) Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and ARF Dashnaktsutyun member Spartak Seiranyan.

“Levon Ter-Petrosyan's return is of great historical importance. It will serve as a prefect bridgehead for ideological and political struggle in the forthcoming presidential election,” said the HAAK leader.

“Levon Ter-Petrosyan can be nominated like any RA citizen,” Spartak Seiranyan aid.

According to Seiranyan, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the All-Armenian Movement (HHSh) had agreed to fight on the bases of political, programme and ideological approaches during the Saturday meeting.

Spartak Seiranyan also added none of the ARFD members suffers from amnesia, and everyone remembers what the HHSh did. Nevertheless, politics supposes observing certain rules, and emotions have nothing to do with politics.

Spartak Seiranyan doesn’t consider Ter-Petrosyan the weakest or the strongest presidential candidate.

He thinks that an election process based on ideology is important but he is not sure it will come true, although compared with the parliamentary election, the process will move towards ideology.

Seiranyan and Hovhannisyan mentioned the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the All-Armenian Movement as subjects of struggle based on ideology.

According to the ARFD member, the government alone cannot be blamed for the degradation of the society because voters readily accept bribes, they even demand bribes.

His opponent Hovhannes Hovhannisyan got indignant at this. “The authorities are to be blamed in this context as they degenerate people and promote bribery.”
