EMPLOYEES OF OMBUDSMAN'S OFFICE MET ARZUMANYAN
Support A1+!Alexander Arzumanyan does not complain of prison conditions or treatment of the administration. He complains of the case investigation, does not agree with the accusation and considers his arrest groundless. This information was disseminated by the RA Human Rights Defender’s Office.
On 18 May the employees of the Defender’s Office visited “Kentron” penitentiary and met the prisoner Alexander Arzumanyan to get some information on conditions in isolation cells. They inquired about treatment and prisoners' complaints.
By the way, Armen Harutunyan, the RA Ombudsman, was unable to visit the prison since he was extremely busy.
It should be mentioned that an appeal was presented to the Appeal Court on Arzumanyan’s case. However, the Court has not discussed the appeal yet. The employees of the Defender’s Office explained to Arzumanyan that the Defender was not competent to interfere with the problems of estimating the evidences based on the accusation. The Defender is following the procedure of the criminal case investigation and will respond to each violation of Arsumanyan’s judicial rights.
